So typically a guarantor is an individual who is planning on living here's family member that is guaranteeing the lease financially in the event the resident does not pay. However, if you are self-qualifying then we would screen the individual who signed the lease for credit.
So in short.
Resident with a guarantor will only be screen from criminal records, whereas the guarantor will be subject to credit checks.
